My night skincare routine in three easy steps!

My night skincare routine in three easy steps!

Do all women get silly as they moving forward “thirties”? Sort of. An appearance of the smallest wrinkle is a trigger for a “finding perfect cream” craze. At meetings with our “girls”, regular topics are Panthenol, Retinol, collagen, elastin, glycerin, hyaluronic and other ingredients that make that face cream better than the other one. Even the Scientific Conference can envy us. But we need to keep rocking with the good look, right? Thus, here I am presenting tips and products that I use in my night skincare routine in 3 easy steps. Let’s start, babe!

A. Makeup removal and face cleansing

A fundamental step an efficient night skincare routine is to clean your skin properly. I know that you are tired or bored but if you are cleaning your face sloppy, the skin will not forgive you! You will just throw another layer of the products on the layer of makeup and dirt gathered from that day. Be diligent and use the “tools” that work best on your skin.

Step 1. Face cleaning

Dry skin requires more patience because it quickly loses its moisture. Use compact milk or oil to clean your face. Ideal cleansers for oily skin are lotions and gels that will bring PH balance to the skin. If you have mixed type, it is best to use mild cleansing milk which you will wash out from your face. I have mixed skin type that tends to be very oily sometimes, so i like to combine both milk and gels.

Top face cleansers…

I start my night skincare routine by removing makeup from my face in detail. Most of the time, i use Garnier Micellar Water that works perfectly on all skin types and should be part of every girl’s beauty inventory. On the days when i had “heavy” makeup, i like to use Botanics Cleansing Cream. It is a very mild formula infused with exfoliating AHA from the hibiscus. Not only removes the make-up and impurities but also gently removes dead skin cells. It has a very soft scent which i like because it means that it is not filled with aggressive products.

Almost every day i apply my favorite Sebo Vegetal cleansing gel which I already reviewed in my previous post Yves Rocher top favorite products”. A “Jolen” facewash gel with rose water intended for all skin types is also an efficient cleanser and also ridiculously cheap (2,5 Eur for 150 ml tube)! It’s a gentle exfoliating formula that revitalizes the skin and makes the skin tone even. I apply one of these products on wet skin and massage with the brush over the face in circular motions. After that, I rinse thoroughly with water and I enjoy the best feeling in the world!

B. Upgrade your night skincare treatment!

Many women consider enough to clean the face before the bed, apply the cream and that is it! I am not saying this doesn’t work, but sometimes it is necessary to try products that will be an extra treat for your skin and help you to look even better. What I do after the first step is to gently tap a face tonic into the skin. This will shrink the pores and remove blackheads.

In the under-eye area, I usually apply “Boots” hydrating eye cream that contains nourishing avocado oil. I like this eye cream because it has a soft texture and it is really light. Not only helps the eyes to be moisturized and nourished but also reduces the appearance of puffiness. The delicate skin around the eyes feels soft, smooth and cared for. If you have a problem with puffy eyes, combine creams with extracts of algae that will nourish the skin and help against the wrinkles.

My top night skincare products

His majesty – serum!

The next product i love is Botanics Radiance Concentrate Serum because difference in skin look is huge. I just put 3-4 drops on areas that look uneven, with wrinkles or the red area around the nose. If you think that face serum is just some fancy product you do not need- you are wrong! The face cream is much thicker and denser, while the serum is more liquid in the texture. Thus, serum gets easier absorbed into the skin which uses most of the active ingredients from them. And although you might pay a high price for such a small amount of products, you should keep in mind that these almost pure active ingredients are concentrated in just one product.

C. Night cream, logically.

The third step is applying a night cream. Did you know that the temperature of the skin during the night is slightly elevated, so is the effect of the cream that is applied then much stronger? Therefore, the cream you apply on your face before bed must be the best! Night skincare should refresh and nourish your skin, and make it smooth and glossy.

To get skin like that when you wake up in the morning, the cream should also contain oxygen to enrich it and refresh it. Night cream should help regenerate the skin cells because the skin is the organ that is most exposed to harmful external influences. Skin regeneration is the most intensive in the period from 11 PM to 4 AM in the morning. “Beauty sleep” is not just a myth!

Depending on my skin condition, i combine different types of night cream. If my skin is normal, i like to apply Clean&Clear Moisturizing Cream, which prevents acne and does not turn up sebum production. If i feel that my skin is dry and gets wrinkled (after sleepless nights) i like to apply Vichy Slow Age Night Cream 2 in 1. This fantastic product works both as a cream and face mask. I like it because it regenerates the skin. As a face mask gives to skin more oxygen and additional skin protection.

You must sleep, ok?

In the end, if you like to have the beautiful skin you need to make sure it is healthy. You can spend an entire fortune on expensive products but if you do not sleep enough, results will not be good as you might expect. Sleeping should be your first and foremost priority for good skin. If you want to look fresh and young. And not to use botox, of course. Go to bed at the same day if possible. Create ritual bedtime so that you can relax and prepare the body for sleep.
