The best tools to get the classic makeup look
Spring is a always sign of inevitable change and growth. Days are shiny, bright and optimistic so we are. While we sit in next door cafe drinking our daily coffee, we feel a new sort of excitement under the ever warmer Sun. We feel more motivated. More optimistic. Everything seems easy. We are ready for a change. For me, change means leaving something that does not work and taking what is easy and effective. Perhaps, that means getting back to what was tried and worth. Recently, I decided to stop experimenting with shimmery makeup and return to the old good classic makeup look. You know what I am talking about – nude shadow, red lipstick look. The accent here is on natural, healthy tan and red lips which I really like. Works every time
It’s always a good idea to change the way you do your makeup. A slight change in the choice of makeup can boost your self-confidence which again gives us the strength to change other things that bother us. Each big journey starts with a first step, remember. So throw that face cream that does not work anymore. Cut those irritating dry ends or do a salon manicure instead of trying to apply nail polish on your own. All of the above is a small effort, but has a great effect on our look, confidence, or at least can save our precious time.
After applying the moisturizing cream on your face, it follows foundation. Shade should be always similar to the natural colour of the skin. Powder should be applied so that the transitions between the chin and the neck cannot be seen.
Firstly, to achieve classic make up look, fundamentally important is to have nice face skin. The goal is to get
Foundations for oily skin
Now, I fight only against oily skin, few blemishes and redness around my nose and forehead. Finding a good foundation that will provide nice coverage and it will not make my face shining like a Christmas tree after a few hours after applying was mission impossible for a long time. Max Factor Lasting Performance foundation provides a long lasting natural look that
Another great tool in achieving flawless skin is Dream Velours Foundation by Maybelline. It is more a gel with a soft texture that gives that matte finish. Skin feels fresh and stays longer than other foundations on the market. After applying foundation evenly on your skin next step is powder. If you have oily or mixes skin I highly recommend Fit me! powder by Maybelline. It leaves a natural, poreless-looking finish with long-lasting shine control. Hallelujah!
After the foundation and powder, the time is for the blush in a gentle shade, which will give you a little refreshment and you will not look tired. I am using here Max Factor Creme Puff blush in Alluring Rose shade that gives very subtle flush to your cheeks. It’s not over pigmented which I really like, because it gives a light effect on the skin.
2. Eyeshadow and mascara
The next step is eye make-up. In classic makeup look, the focus is in red lipstick and long eyelashes. A good choice is an eyeshadow in earth tones that gives a natural, yet seductive look. You can use two different shades, one in bright and other in a darker colour. Best eyeshadow to achieve deepened but not smoke eye look (cause that is not the point) is Revlon Colorstay Creme Eye Shadow in 720 nuances. It gives you blendable, luxurious colour with no creasing and most important it looks unobtrusive which I really like.
The eyelashes should be elongated and lifted so that the eyes look bigger. My favourite mascaras to get that go – to elegant classic makeup look is Max Factor 2000 Calories mascara and Classic Volume Express Mascara by Maybelline. These two mascaras are my holy grail. I have very light eyelashes and these mascaras just bring my eyes back to life. They give a volume to eyelashes without the “spider legs” look that is not classy and elegant at all. With eyeshadow in darker shade and mascara, you don’t need eyeliner, coz your eyes are lifted enough.
3. Lipstick for best classic makeup look
Classic make up look is all about red lips, but you can beautify your lips with more gentle colours of lipstick such as light pink. I wear red lipstick even at work coz it looks perfect with less effort. Even if you are wearing black jeans and a simple white T-shirt, apply red lipstick and you will immediately get that elegant and classy look. I am using here Maybelline Color Show Downtime Red. This formula is very creamy, glides like butter and doesn’t settle into the crease of the lips. It is super pigmented, just one swipe and you are good for the entire day.
Classy, simple and elegant, is not that what we all want?
What I love about this makeup is that it takes 10 minutes to apply and it is suitable for every occasion. Throw some jeans, any shirt and classic makeup and you will look chick. Dress on little black dress and red lipstick and you are “million dollar babe”.
Whether you want to make an evening look, various combinations of classy makeup are permitted. One of them is the one that equally highlights your eyes and lips, which means if you decide to make up your lips in some of the dark shades, you can do the same with your eyes. If you choose a dark lipstick, your eyes can be dressed in any darker shade that will match your eye colour. It’s only necessary to keep in mind that everything needs to be with taste, so don’t overdo it. Stay claassy, girl!
