The Dead Sea mud-does it really work?
Great skin is not a myth! It’s possible to have healthy and glowy skin by using the right products, eating healthy food and avoiding too much makeup. I don’t have bigger issues with my face skin except for large pores in t-zone and excess oil. That is why I am in constant search for different products that will minimize the impurities from my skin. I love trying new cosmetic, whether it’s organic, luxury or even homemade preparations. I recently returned from a trip to Jordan and brought the entire bag of Dead Sea products. You have not been to the Dead Sea if you haven’t tried the Dead sea mud musk! Natural products are always the best and I wanted to share my experience with you.
Dead Sea Mud
I’m sure that many people have heard about the healing power of mud from the Dead Sea. It’s best known for being used to detoxify and calm the skin. It contains large quantities of magnesium, calcium and iron. Those who use it and who praise it on social networks say it does miracles. From the other side, there’s also a lot of controversies whether the dead sea mud really helps in solving skin problems. Sometimes it’s really suspicious given the fact that some cosmetic houses sell small bottles of mud from the dead sea at unbelievable prices.
However, dermatologists point out that the Dead Sea mud is a good choice for the skin. It provides enough minerals and at the same time, it nourishes and hydrates. Also, it helps with dandruff and skin dryness. Experts say that this type of mud is the best thing for natural facial cleansing.
Is the mud really good for skin?
The two days I spent at the Dead sea beach in Crowne plaza Spa&Resort I utilized to see if mud really works. If you ever have a chance to get this mud, do not expect a nice smell and smooth structure. Expect…well…. a mud. It’s a dark grey colour and has a bit of strong smell. You need to apply the mud on the entire body or areas with skin issue and leave it to dry about 20-30 min. A dried layer can be removed by gentle scrubbing and clean water. All those who have tried this mask say that their skin is more elastic and gentler than it was before.
Since the mud contains salt and sulfur, be very careful not to apply on scratches or open wounds ‘coz’ it will be more irritated! My sunburns definitely did not “enjoy” the treatment. The impression was that the mud works effectively on the skin by cleansing the pimples and impurities. Since the mud serves as a natural exfoliator, skin definitely looks softer.
Benefits of Dead Sea products
I did not bring home the mud from the Dead Sea, because it somehow seemed like stealing. Instead, I bought a lot of products based on Dead Sea mud equally effective.
A product that I liked is Dead Sea mud face& body musk from a local brand called the Levant. The mask helps natural peeling of dead skin It improves the overall appearance of the skin by increasing the elasticity. In order to have the best results, you need to shake the package before use and apply in even layer on clear skin. I really liked how it smoothness my skin. Thanks to sulphur and salt it kills bacteria and prevents pimples. It is efficient in removing excess oil on my skin which is my goal number one!
Face masks i liked
The other dead sea product that delighted me with the results is the Dead Sea mud musks with carrot and cucumber from the brand Vita Mare. This musk provides better skin elasticity, stimulates blood circulation and refines skin texture. Process of applying is the same as with any other mask: apply the rich amount on clean skin and leave for 15 minutes. I usually leave it longer on my face while doing housework.
Second mud mask which I purchased from the same brand is Revitalizing Multivitamin mud musk with vitamins A, E, C. You get so much of just one application! The effect of this mask is the absorption of excess oil, removing dead skin cells or dirt and leaving the skin refreshed!
Dead Sea Mud Musk with rose water works really good as an exfoliator. As we all know, rose water is widely used in skin care, because it’s gentle enough for all skin types. It has astringent tonic which helps in reducing the redness caused by enlarged capillaries. This mask is really good on oily skin and skin prone to acne.
Soaps based on Dead Sea mud
It’s time to throw your regular soap! I’m usually not a big fan of soap because of causing skin dryness. Whenever I tried to include soap in my skincare routine, resulted in itchiness and irritation. However, its whole other story with organic soaps that do not have artificial additives.
Besides the mud masks, I got several types of soap. They consist of completely natural components such as chamomile, citrus, lavender. All of them are SLS and Paraben free. These soaps are very gentle and provide deep cleansing and removing dead skin cells. They are specially formulated to regulate and maintain skin PH balance. So far, I have tried Dead Sea Exfoliant Soap and I really liked it. It feels soothing on my skin, while at the same time it cleans clogged pores.
Beautiful skin as a goal
I have always belonged to that group of girls whose priority is clean and healthy skin instead of using makeup to cover up imperfections on the face. Makeup ( although I love it) its not permanent solution. My goal is to have amazing skin and I hope I will make it! When it comes to Dead Sea products, currently, there are a large number of masks of well-known manufacturers based on Dead Sea mud formula. Rare are those who really have a proper and adequate effect. Before embarking on an adventure with this type of masks, you should a jar of real mud from the Dead Sea.
